While I do work as a writer full-time, I also experiment with the craft in my off hours. Below, you will find a piece of poetry I penned in June 2018. Enjoy or rip it apart.
Games
All through my life, I’ve been a gamer. Through thick and thin, polygons and digital sprites have greeted me like an old friend and enveloped me in their glow.
I’ve saved worlds,
destroyed lives,
and faced fears,
all from a couch or chair.
As I age, it becomes harder to stay hooked, for my friends, controllers gave way to jobs and responsibility. I have those too, but try to hold on.
Can I do it?
I guess time will tell.
For now, all I can do is explore
and see what,
if anything,
engages me again.
