The Wausau Police Department is once again informing the public of the release next week of a sex offender.
According to a press release issued Monday, James M. Smith will soon be back in the community Tuesday as Marathon County was the original location for his two third-degree sexual assault offenses. He will be placed into the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Intensive Supervision program, will be monitored by agents out of the Marathon County Courthouse and will live in transitional housing near the building. As is the usual case, he will be on a restricted schedule with time for work, treatment and his ongoing address will be available online.
Those interested in this information can find it in the Wisconsin Sex Offender Registry here.
