Founder, Reporter, Photographer, and Editor (September 2022 – October 2023)
- Oversaw my news website and monthly physical paper in the Wausau area.
- Wrote and published news stories as I got them ranging from general assignments to arts and sports.
- Took a variety of photographs used to anchor stories and on occasion had them stand alone.
- Edited the work of infrequent contributors before publishing it along with my content.
- Applied for grants to boost the business and received two with a combined $10,000 value.
The Spruce Grove Examiner and Stony Plain Reporter, Spruce Grove, Alberta
Reporter and Columnist (October 2018 – December 2020)
- Covered local news with one other reporter and an editor in a region of about 50,000.
- Had my reporting and columns picked up by other Postmedia papers across Canada.
- Earned two provincial-level awards for feature stories I wrote on health struggles in the community and had one of my columns about a personal struggle I was going through published by the National Post.
The Mountaineer, Rocky Mountain House, Alberta
Editor-Reporter (September 2018)
- Wrote columns and stories for each edition of the paper published on Tuesdays every week.
- Managed a team of multiple contributors and freelancers and assigned stories to each.
- Checked over each section of the paper for corrections and errors before the final pages went to press.
The Lakeland Times, Minocqua, Wisconsin
General Assignment Reporter (August 2017 – August 2018)
- Covered local government meetings, hard news, and an occasional feature story, too.
- Wrote advertisement copy for businesses and various special sections and editions.
